A Letter from Bill Harrison

A Letter from Bill Harrison, Convention Chairman,

Atlanta Steampunk Expo:

Ladies and Gentlemen and All Supporters of ASE,

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that I have to announce that we will be cancelling ASE for our previously announced dates of February 5th-7th, 2021. Personally, I just do NOT want to risk the health and safety of my friends, staff, and Steampunk community with the present danger of the Coronavirus. I hoped we could do it safely with proper protocols and careful planning, but we are not where we had hoped to be by now with regard to the number of cases and development of the vaccine and I just do NOT want to take that chance. You are all too valuable to us.

So, we are looking ahead (and hoping) that we will be able to have our physical Expo again in February 2022. Tentative dates are February 11th-13th, 2022. Same hotel (Doubletree by Hilton Atlanta Perimeter Dunwoody, 4386 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd,  Atlanta, GA 30341), same theme.

We are going to continue hosting virtual events over the course of the next few months to share the wonderful world of Steampunk with our friends. Please stay tuned...

Again, I apologize for any issues this might create and will be happy to assist in resolving any problems.

Bill Harrison

Con Chairman

Atlanta Steampunk Exposition

What if I already bought a ticket?

Do not lose it! All tickets will be honored at our next physical Exposition, and to further thank you for your patience and support please keep an eye on your inboxes over the next few days.

So will there be no Exposition in 2021?

Our fantastic hosts at the Doubletree by Hilton Dunwoody are already in the process of getting us set for fun and frivolity February 11th-13th, 2022! In the meantime, we will be rolling out virtual content on a regular basis until conditions for meeting in person again have improved. We just can't know how the next few months will turn out, but we guarantee we will be back to our usual shenanigans as soon as it is safe to do so.

If I booked a room, what do I do?

Room holders will need to cancel their reservation and re-book their room for our new dates. We apologize for the inconvenience. All cancelations can be handled by calling the hotel at (770) 457-6363. Once we have the new booking link for our updated dates, we will include that here.

2022 is so far away! How can I get my Steampunk fix?

We know nothing can take the place of meeting in person to share our ideas, our passions, our inventions, and lots of laughter and fun, but we are already in the process of planning a variety of virtual events to tide us all over. ASE has always been about the community, and finding ways to be together even while we are apart is our #1 focus. Virtual hangouts? You've got it. Game nights? Sure! And the same entertainment, contests, and silliness you've come to love over the last four years. Steam power has come a long way over the years, and we're looking forward to staying connected with you all as much as we can and as safely as we can. After all, your wellness is the most important thing to us.

If you have ideas for things you would like to see or virtual events we just have to have, please reach out to us here. We'd love to hear from you.

Thank you all again for your kindness and support.

Good health to you!
